«Architecture is about precedents»

Peter Eisenman

archsynopsis project is developed by ALT+A association

We need references. Archsynopsis is a project that keeps track of these references in a non-hierarchical, non-chronological, and (obviously) subjective archive. The underlying architectural concepts are synthesized into a single square black&white drawing using sketches and diagrams.
The archive can be organized according to multiple themes—don’t hesitate to explore connections that aren’t always obvious. Enjoy!

✖️Răzvan Mircea Nica

◾️ (some kind of) Architect

🟰 Răzvan Mircea Nica is an architect, researcher, and educator based in Iași, Romania. He serves as an associate professor and vice-dean at the “G.M. Cantacuzino” Faculty of Architecture, part of the Gheorghe Asachi Technical University of Iași, where he has been teaching architectural theory, urban sociology, and design for over 17 years.

Nica is the founder of ArchSynopsis, a digital platform that reimagines architectural archiving through non-hierarchical, diagrammatic visual syntheses of contemporary buildings. This project reflects his broader interest in visual epistemology and the role of drawing as a critical and pedagogical tool. His academic research spans topics such as ephemeral architecture, spatial morphology, and the sociology of urban space.

Beyond academia, Nica co-founded ALT+A, a non-governmental organization dedicated to promoting education, research, and cultural initiatives in architecture and urbanism. He is also involved in SF(a) – Society. Film. Architecture., a project that explores the intersection of architecture and cinema. His work reflects a commitment to integrating theoretical inquiry, visual experimentation, and educational innovation in the field of architecture.
